Well-intentioned, but poorly executed?! - This is a criticism that has hit the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) repeatedly and frequently in recent years. But how effective is the Court in reality? Does it reach its limits with regard to authoritarian states?

We - Movement for Justice (association headquarters in Freiburg/ Germany) and Social Rights Association (association headquarters in Istanbul/ Turkey) - have planned a two-day webinar on the weekend of January 22 and 23, 2022 on the topic of "Human Rights in Times of Crisis - Importance of the Implementation of ECHR Rulings".

The aim of our cooperation event was to draw attention to the ongoing human rights violations in various (European) states, highlighting the importance of the European Court of Human Rights and the implementation of its rulings.

Besides some general topics, we focused on the following countries during our webinar: Azerbaijan, Hungary, Poland, Germany, France and Turkey. Our speakers explained the political as well as the legal situation with regard to human rights and described the deficits in terms of implementation on the basis of ECHR rulings.
